About us
ABA Victorian Branch provides support to our 3,300+ Victorian members and 200+ volunteers from 27 different groups and 13 regions across Victoria.
Community support
The Branch Office, also known as the Breastfeeding Centre, is located in Dandenong, South East of Melbourne. ABA VIC Branch and the Breastfeeding Centre are funded by the Victorian Department of Health to:
Provide mums with practical mother-to-mother support and information, enabling them to establish and continue breastfeeding
Provide high quality and accessible training, education and resources to our volunteers, health professionals and the wider community
Strengthen the advocacy work of the Australian Breastfeeding Association.
The Breastfeeding Centre
Free appointments are on Wednesdays, between 10am to 2pm. Mums can speak to a trained breastfeeding counsellor in-person to receive support and information to assist them.
Mums can bring family, children and support people to the session.
No government paperwork required to receive assistance.
Breast pump hire
The Breastfeeding Centre also hires out breast pumps to individuals, families and via local health organisations.
A driver's licence and a credit card are required.
Resources
A range of free and priced ABA publications are available in English and other languages, to support mums and their families.
ABA resources include tip cards, posters, breastfeeding helpline magnets, booklets and books. As Australia's Breastfeeding peak body, our website has the latest information.

Health professionals
Our qualified volunteers and staff engage with local health professionals to ensure that they have the information and skills they need to provide best practice care of breastfeeding women and babies.
Local Groups
Local groups are spread across metro, regional and rural Victoria. Groups have meet-ups for pregnant people and breastfeeding parents to gather in a friendly relaxed environment.
Peer to peer support is available.
Meet-ups are free and offer connection to pregnant people and families with children.
